Lane Hires VP, People & Experience Meghan Smith to Champion a People-First Culture Amid Company Growth

The former Top Hat executive has joined Lane’s ranks to foster a thriving workplace community as the Toronto-based tech company grows its team and expands to new offices. 

Workplace experience platform Lane today announced that Meghan Smith has joined the company as its first Vice President, People & Experience. As part of Lane’s executive team, Smith will be responsible for building, owning and developing a world-class culture and employee experience as the company grows its Toronto workplace past the 100-person mark and opens satellite locations in NYC, Denver, Boston, Sydney, Montreal, Calgary and Edmonton.

“I joined Lane because of the incredible product, amazing people, and unbelievable potential the business has in the market to disrupt and lead the Proptech space,” said Smith. “Being the VP, People & Experience at a company that’s focused on workplace experience means that we need to foster and exemplify an exceptional employee and workplace experience here at Lane. Smith joins Lane from Top Hat, where she was Vice President of People & Culture and was a member of the executive team responsible for the build-out and scale-up of the People and PeopleOps function and led the pandemic planning and pivot to remote work across North America.

Prior to Top Hat, Smith was Head of People at Altum Health and Director of Talent and Culture at Centric Health, where she was responsible for supporting business growth and transformation by putting in place best-in-class end-to-end people practices.
